For the SynerNet Gateway project for Fluxion, we embarked on a challenge to not just meet but surpass our client’s specifications for a more intuitive and visually appealing device. The original product was a simple, unmarked box, limiting user interaction and functionality due to its nondescript nature and outdated socket configuration. Our mission was to introduce a transformative design update that would make the device not only more user-friendly but also more informative at first glance.
Project Overview
Dimensions: The revamped gateway boasts dimensions of 210x240mm, offering a compact yet versatile structure.
Floma Designs Approach
Front Plate Enhancements:
Connectivity and Interface: The front plate now hosts a variety of essential ports including HDMI, USB, LAN, and WIFI, facilitating a broad spectrum of connections.
Back Plate Upgrades:
- Display and Outputs: A 4” LED display features crucial control elements (“+”, “-”, “NC”), alongside a 4-20 mA output with clearly marked polarities and an RS485 interface for enhanced data communication. Additionally, a 230V AC input ensures reliable power supply.
- Safety Instructions: A dedicated section for safety guidelines has been thoughtfully integrated into the back plate’s corner, prioritizing user security.
Top Plate and Side Enhancements:
- Guidance and Accessibility: The top plate now contains user instructions directly from the client, while the sides are adorned with contact information stickers, significantly improving user assistance and support accessibility.
